Maps, data and evidence
Work with map layers
Use public layers as evidence leads and keep them separate from owner-confirmed geometry.
Turn layers on with a question
Choose layers that answer a decision: parcel and land constraints, roads, demand, grid, fibre, water, agriculture or environmental context. Too many simultaneous layers make the map harder to interpret.
- Check the layer source and observation date.
- Use the legend and evidence status.
- Treat approximate points and corridors as approximate.
- Record why a layer changes the decision.
