PV8 GUIDES

How can we help?

Find the workflow, evidence and engineering guidance for turning an existing PV site into a better decision.

/

Import boundaries and layouts

Bring GIS and CAD geometry into PV8 without disrupting the engineering workflow.

Prepare geometry

  • Keep parcel, PV, road, cable and equipment layers separate.
  • State the coordinate reference system.
  • Prefer GeoJSON, KML or DXF with simple, valid geometry.
  • Check the imported geometry against the asset pin and basemap.
  • Record whether geometry is surveyed, designed, digitised or illustrative.

Keep the source file

Preserve the original engineering file and its revision. PV8 uses imported geometry for screening and handoff; the originating CAD or PV design package remains the detailed-design authority.
