Wind Hybridization
Methods v1.0 · updated 2026-08-28
Wind capacity added behind the same connection to fill night and winter export.
Method
- Wind resource from reanalysis-class data at the site; micrositing screen for usable positions respecting the PV layout and setbacks.
- Hourly wind/PV/connection interaction → net additional export after shared-connection clipping.
- Incremental NPV at labelled turbine capex bands.
Data sources
- Reanalysis wind data (source labelled per run)
- Turbine class characteristics (public curves)
Limitations
- A met-mast/lidar campaign supersedes the screen — reanalysis bias at low heights is real and stated.
- Permitting (noise, shadow, avian) is a gate the screen cannot clear.
- Screening result with labelled assumptions — not a bankable study, an engineering design, or investment advice.
- Site-specific facts the owner has not provided are filled with labelled, era- or country-typical defaults.
