Direct Wire
Methods v1.0 · updated 2026-08-28
Nearby offtakers that could take power over a private wire, screened for load match and route economics.
Method
- Candidate loads discovered from open geographic data around the site (industry, logistics, water, commercial anchors).
- Load profiles estimated from facility type and size until the counterparty supplies interval data (secure submission link).
- Hourly PV/load overlap → self-consumption share; route cost per km against the spread between retail and capture price.
Data sources
- OpenStreetMap/Overture facility data (mirror-rotated, bbox-scoped queries)
- Counterparty-submitted interval CSVs once provided
Limitations
- Estimated load profiles carry wide bands until real interval data arrives — the engine labels which one it used.
- Wayleaves/permits for the route are flagged as evidence gaps, not modelled.
- Screening result with labelled assumptions — not a bankable study, an engineering design, or investment advice.
- Site-specific facts the owner has not provided are filled with labelled, era- or country-typical defaults.
